Something About A Song

Promise Me You was written for Theresa. It's pretty much a recount of our past, and speaks of the pathway that led us to where we were at the time the song was written. It's a song about making promises, about making babies and being true to each other. My guess is that it describes the life situation of any couple that has been together as long as Theresa and I. The lead-in line to the chorus - So, sing Oh My Darlin' - is a reference to Stephen Foster's Oh My Darling Clementine. As strange as that might seem to some, for me, it ties in perfectly with our relationship in much the same way as, say, You Are My Sunshine. Of course, Theresa is both My Darling and My Sunshine, so either way it wouldn't matter which of those two songs I refered to.

Promise Me You was recorded as a demo and features the voice of Jodi Krangle. After listening to Jodi sing it I realized how much better it sounded being sung by a woman. Thank you Jodi!

This song is available as a demo to serious music publishers and recording artists.

Promise Me You

You promised love
I promised too
We promised that we would
Always be true
We found a pathway
We traveled along
And these were the words
To our song

Sing Oh My Darlin'
You're forever mine
True as the ivy
That clings to the vine
Give me the mountains
And oceans of blue
But promise me
Promise me you

We planted a garden
And watched flowers grow
Promises sweet as
The dew upon the rose
You were the melody
I sang along
We fell in love
To that song

So, sing Oh My Darlin'
You're forever mine
True as the ivy
That clings to the vine
Give me the mountains
And oceans of blue
But promise me
Promise me you
